ESPWA (French creole for Hope), is a feature doc exploring the role of Haitian artists as custodians of the country’s voice at a time when national institutions and governance are absent or failing. The film looks at the history of Haiti, and the impact of the recent assassination of President Jovenel Moise, as the country attempts to build back towards security and prosperity. Espwa is a story or resilience with exclusive access to the story of Joverlein Moise, the assassinated president’s son, who tells his story for the first time. English and French versions available.
